How Does Zoom! Teeth Whitening Work?
In-office treatment: In about the time you spend eating lunch, you can enjoy a teeth whitening experience that can transform your drab smile into Hollywood wow! Whether you participate in take-home or in-office whitening, the introductory steps are similar. You will likely be advised to have teeth cleaned so all plaque and tartar has been removed.
With in-office treatment, your dental provider will begin by protecting all surrounding oral tissues leaving teeth exposed. The powerful whitening gel is applied to teeth and the Zoom laser goes to work helping the gel eliminate dental stain and discoloration.
Two or three fifteen minute sessions are all that is needed to brighten your teeth up to eight shades. A final application of a product to help alleviate sensitivity is applied and your treatment is completed.
At-home option: For patients wishing to whiten at their own pace in the privacy of home, our cosmetic dentist can fabricate a custom fitted tray that accompanies the most powerful take-home whitening products available. Tooth whitening at home takes a little longer than the in-office program, but patients can expect great results with either option.
Things to Think About Following Teeth Whitening
There are certain foods and beverages that promote dental stain … coffee, tea, red wine, and cola are beverages that can stain. Many berries, tomato based sauces, soy or any dark sauces should be limited. A good rule of thumb to remember – if it will stain a white cloth, it will likely stain your teeth.
Drinking beverages through a straw helps much of the liquid to bypass teeth.
Tobacco use in any form can discolor teeth.
Touch-up kits are available to help you maintain and maximize your teeth whitening investment.
